Pre-sale Your Music On iTunes And Amazon For Increased Sales And Attention

A  music pre-sale is a great way to build hype and buzz for your latest single or album that is coming in the next month.  A digital pre-sale (via iTunes or Amazon) will let you tell your fans where to go RIGHT NOW to purchase your music.

Here’s how this will work for iTunes pre-sales

Artists who have albums with 11 or more tracks are eligible to choose an “instant gratification” for for iTunes.   iTunes will make that track available for purchase as a part of the pre-sale album so iTunes customers can purchase this track by itself, or it can be instantly downloaded when they purchase your complete album during the pre-sale. The current release date must be at least 30 days in the future.

Here’s how this will work for Amazon pre-sales

Amazon is a huge retailer and digital pre-sale gives artists a great way to generate music sales prior to your album launch.  Any album that CD Baby delivers to Amazon with a future release date will be made available for pre-order.  All of your pre-sales will be fulfilled when your release date arrives.
