A Smart App That Lets You Make Music With Shapes

If you’ve always wanted to create music but don’t know where to start or don’t know anything about music…now you have a way to make music.  A new app, called Geometric Music, doesn’t require a lot of musical skills beyond understanding shapes and making sounds.

The app works like production software, allowing you to create layered beats. Instead of getting bogged down trying to figure out how to use complicated production software, Geometric Music only uses shapes to dictate how something sounds.  Every single noise you make gets translated into one of four shapes (triangle, circle, square, or hexagon).  You then manipulate those shapes to change speed, volume, and the rhythm of that sound.   What you see on screen is translated to what you hear.

The size of the shape determines the tempo (the smaller the shape, the faster the beat). Also, the shape’s orientation dictates its dynamics (down decreases the volume, up increases the volume) and how you hear it (move the shape right and left to impact the stereo).  You can also reverse and distort your sounds.  Check it out.  You can create music before you know it.
