Apple’s Beats Music Streaming Service May Relaunch for 10 Dollars Per Month
On Monday the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple’s music streaming service will have a price of $10 per month to listen to any song available on demand.
This $10 pricepoint is the same price that Spotify charges for its previous service, and it is the same price of the original Beats Music (which Apple bought for 3 Billion last year).
Although Apple initially resisted the subscription music model, streaming music popularity and download declines could not be ignored.
Apple plans to augment its free ad supported Internet radio service, now operating as iTunes Radio, with channels programmed and hosted by DJs.
The service is expected to be launched at the WWDC conference on June 8, but Apple has yet to close deals with the three major record labels, so this could delay the unveiling of the new services.
