Indie Musicians Get Victory in Streaming Royalties Battle with Apple

Taylor Swift has proven herself as one of the most powerful woman in the music industry.  After she issued a criticism of Apple not paying musicians during the free three-month trial of their new streaming service, the company reversed their decision.

Taylor issued an explanation to her fans as to why they won’t be able to stream her latest album (1989) on Apple’s new streaming service, and expressed her shock and disappointment in the decision Apple made not to pay writers, producers, or artists during that 3 month trial.

Apple has been receiving a great deal of backlash from the music industry, particularly independent labels, over the initial decision they made not to pay music royalties during the 3 month trial, and it looks like they finally chose to make the right decision and make sure that writers, producers, artists and labels are being paid for all of their efforts.
