Is Social Media Hurting Your Music Career?
There is a lot of pressure to try break through the noise as an indie musician today.
Many artists are spending a lot of their time tweeing, posting on social media networks, acting as their own personal manager, publicity director, and booking agent. This could all be fine and well if one thing is true…your music is actually really good.
If you don’t have a great song, you shouldn’t expect to have a big breakthrough that you’re looking for. Although social media can be a userful tool in promoting your music, no amount of social media promotion for your music can make a song good if the honest truth is that it isn’t.
In fact just writing good songs is not enough. You’ll need to push boundaries and most likely create music outside of your comfort zone if you want to create truly great music.
