Republic Records Teams With IM Global to Produce Music Driven Films

Independent film and television studio IM Global has teamed up with Republic Records and announced a multi-picture co-production and co-financing relationship for a series of music driven titles.  The movies will be supported by music videos, soundtracks, and fan-driven social media.

The deal was brokered by IM Global Music president David Schulhof, and the first feature is scheduled to be an urban comedy set in Atlanta, with production beginning this summer.  The movie will be directed by Billie Woodruff (Beauty Shop, Addicted) and will be produced by Schulhof, Republic founder/CEO Monte Lipman, IM Global’s Matt Jackson, and co-produced by Nick Cannon and Nelly.
