The Orchard is Independent No More

Indie music and video distributor The Orchard is no longer independent.  Sony just completed a $200 million purchase and now gained 100% ownership and control.

Sony has owned a controlling interest in The Orchard since 2012, but has continued to operate independently.

You can expect smaller distributors like OneRPM and Ditto to also aggressively approach indie labels in the future.
