Why People Aren’t Watching Your YouTube Videos
It’s not too difficult to upload YouTube videos, but it can be a big challenge trying to get views on your video.
You may think you created an amazing video, and put a lot of effort into it to make it just right. You upload and may think your view count will go through the roof, but then the unthinkable happens….nothing.
So what happened?
Here are five reasons your YouTube videos may be getting ignored
1) You don’t have any fans
If you don’t have many fans to begin with you shouldn’t just expect to get tons of views. You need to do some leg work to get the word out about your music, and if your music is good and you give listeners what they want, you can grow your fanbase
2) You don’t optimize your videos to be discovered organically
You want your videos to show up in the search engines when people search for your keywords. You’ll need e.g. optimized titles and descriptions, customized thumbnails that represent the content of your video, optimize your channel so users are engaged and want to subscribe to your channel.
3) You hold your phone vertically when creating videos
You want your YouTube video to look professional so when you record, make sure you hold your camera horizontally to create a better viewing experience for others.
4) You’re annoying others with your self promotion
Of course you can do some self promotion, but there is an effective way of doing this. Make sure you give people what they want to see, and look for other examples in your genre study what they are doing right, and apply techniques on your own channel that makes sense for your brand
5) You focus on only creating viral videos
This is similar to just focusing on creating a one hit wonder instead of building a long successful music career. You should consider focusing on good consistent content overtime. You want people to spend more time watching videos on your channel, and if you’re content is good, they’ll more likely to come back for more.
